The application deadline for school year 2025-2026 is April 1, 2025
The lottery will take place on April 8, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. and posted on our website thereafter.
Notifications for open seats in Kindergarten will be sent out immediately after the lottery. All other applicants grades 1-8 will be waitlisted and families contacted in the waitlist order as seats become available.

Any child who is eligible for NYC Public School is eligible to apply to Community Roots Charter School. Community Roots Charter School currently serves 474 students (K-8).
Students applying to Kindergarten must turn five by December 31st of their Kindergarten year.
*A charter school shall not discriminate against any student or limit the admission of any student on the basis of ethnicity, national origin, gender, disability, intellectual ability, measures of achievement or aptitude, athletic ability, disability, race, creed, gender, national origin, religion or ancestry or any other ground that would be unlawful if done by a school. A school may not require any action by a student or family (such as an admissions test, interview, essay, attendance at an information session, etc.) in order for an applicant to either receive or submit an application for admission to that school.
