Occasionally, some board members may join the meeting via video conference.*
On March 21, 2023, Mayor Adams, by executive order, extended NYC’s COVID-19 State of Emergency for thirty days or until it is revoked. This executive order allows for entities in New York City subject to OML, including all charter schools, to continue to hold meetings virtually (for charters this will impact board and board committee meetings) until April 20, 2023.
While we encourage public participation and provide a designated time for public comment, individuals are limited to two minutes total of public comment each, unless the Board asks for additional feedback. Depending on the nature of the comment, the Board may move to Executive Session to discuss further in order to preserve confidentiality and privacy. Total time for public participation is limited to 15 minutes and places are allotted on a first come, first served basis. All trustees and members of the public must abide by Community Roots charter school norms concerning professionalism and civility in their comments, which can be found in our handbook.
Meeting minutes and agendas are accessible here.
